We are a group of horseback archers based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We practice, compete, give demonstrations, trade stories, and have fun together.
We practice with the Bay Area Asian Archers. They rotate between local public archery ranges including: Kings Mountain Archers in Huddart County Park in Woodside; Bowhunters Unlimited in Stevens Creek Country Park near Cupertino; Redwood Bowman behind the Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland; and SF Archers in Pacifica (there's a $5/day fee for this range). Check out the group's Google Calendar to see when and where they're meeting next. Practices are free and beginners are welcome.
As for horseback riding, we all have individual arrangements. Some of us own a horse, some lease, and some take lessons. We practice horseback archery together once a month.
We participate in IHAA and MA3 postal matches and rankings when possible. We do not have a ranking course of our own. The pictures of us on horseback on this page were taken at California Centaurs, a club based in Petaluma that gives instruction in horseback archery. Our usual practice site is the arena of the Santa Clara County Horsemen's Association in Almaden (South San Jose).
